Mission: KitPossible {More & Winner!}

Hello Lovelies!

Well, our Mission for this month is coming to a close. I think we killed it! If you want to see our game from the beginning, go HERE and then HERE. My crafty friends, Jen Harris and Christy Reuling and I had a blast playing! Thanks for joining us, I hope you had fun either participating or watching :)

At the end of the post I'll have the giveaway winner (so now you'll have to look at my pretties, haha!)

Secret confession time: this kit had me STUMPED! Like really, really stumped! I just hit a wall! So, because I was playing with friends I had to put my big girl panties on and just do it! So I made mostly small cards (like 3 x 3) and book marks.  Confession over :)

My pretties:

Guess how many Distress Markers I used? 26! Each ball of stars has 3 colors. Totally can't tell but I enjoyed coloring mindlessly :)

Bring out the neon Sharpies! Yup, I own 3 Copics so Sharpies are my go to alcohol ink!

I was so lost on this one. I don't even know. That red piece is from the gift box thingy that came in the kit, then I just wondered around aimlessly trying to put it all together. Not sure if it did : /

Little itty bitty card.

I love making small cards. It's one way I boost my mojo. I mean, how hard can a 3 x 3 canvas be, right?

I totally started out wanting to use the mini ruler that came in the kit on this one, then completely forgot about it!

So, I personally can't stand mixing cream and white. But this kit had white based papers and a cream sticker sheet, so I just went with it. However, these bigger word stickers I could NOT get to work on a card, so I thought bookmarks would work.

I applied Mod Podge over the letter stickers so they wouldn't pop off.

The kit we worked with.

Giveaway winner time!

I used to select the winner for the $10 Simon Says Stamp gift card. I had 14 comments and Random picked comment #10...which is...

Lenny, will you email me your email address that you'd like the Simon Says Gift Card sent too please (it's an e-card)?

Thank you all so much for the encouragement and participation! We hope you were inspired and/or at least entertained!

This post will NOT self destruct....(I had to, I'm sorry)

Happy Birthday, Kelly!

Hello Lovelies!

It's Kelly's birthday today! Some girls over at A Blog Named Hero have made her some cards to help celebrate!

Kelly is super sweet and I adore her card making style. Every card she makes makes me smile. She's the one responsible for me dipping into the neon/bright color pool.

For this card I really wanted to capture the essence of Kelly's cards. Here's what I included especially for her:

  • bright colors
  • GLITTER! (hard to see in the photo but the black mat has stickles all over it!)
  • embossing
  • butterflies
  • twine
  • banner sentiment strip
  • a touch of black
Happy Birthday!

Thanks for stopping by! Head over to A Blog Named Hero for more birthday cards!

Mission: Kit-Possible II

Hello Lovelies!

We're at it again! And we've picked up a new partner in crime for this month. We received a lot of positive feedback about our game last month and it was so fun that we decided to do it again!

It's simple really. We adore the Simon Says Stamp monthly card kits and it came to someone's attention that someone, who shall remain nameless, confessed (in writing no less) that she's NEVER used the kit. Oh yes, she BOUGHT the kit and they were pilling up in her craft room! So our game was born: Mission Kit-Possible.

The Rules:

  • the 3 of us have given each other one cue
  • we are to use all 3 cues on one card using only the SSS card kit
  • yeah, that was it, told you it was simple!

The Team:

The Kit:

The Cues:

  • Make any other size card other than A2 (standard size 4 1/4 x 5 1/2)
  • Use at least 3 patterned papers
  • Use the chalkboard
We'll reveal our cards on Monday night (we live in 3 different time zones so I'll just say night time!)

And that's not all! To reward you for A) reading this far, B) being excited to play with us and C) because we're cool...we are all 3 having a giveaway! You'll have to visit each of our blogs for the specific rules of each giveaway. So look for us on Monday night with the reveal AND the giveaway guidelines.

Thanks for coming by! I hope you're excited about part deux of our game!

Because of Kelly

Hello Lovelies!

About a month or so ago I publicly declared I didn't like neon. It was too close to the 80's for me. I didn't want bright colored clothing again. I didn't want everything so eye blinding bright. I did know that after TONS of inspiration projects out there that neon would probably grow on me. In little doses. Maybe.

Well, I have this crafty friend, Kelly. Kelly loves color. Bright color. Everyone sit down. I like bright color too. There! I said it! In tiny doses. I will NOT be wearing neon socks. I will NOT be wearing neon t-shirts. I will, however, craft and stamp neon this and that and be happy! And that's not all! The stamp set and die set are from Sweet Stamp Shop. And she is a Sweet Tooth girl there and made some gorgeous cards using the set.

So, here's a birthday card for my boss. All bright and neon :) I used Distress Inks in Picked Raspberry, Squeezed Lemonade and Peacock Feathers.

Sentiment stamp from Hero Arts, Wish Big.

Thanks for stopping by!

Here I am!

Hello Lovelies!

It was brought to my attention that I had not blogged in 2 weeks! Yikes!

I started a new job so I'm getting used to the new schedule. I had a month off before I started so I feel like I'm in back-to-school training!

This past weekend & today I've had a cold. Oh boo!

Can't wait to get back in my craft room! Remember the Mission: Kit-Possible I did with my friend, Jen? Well, we are doing it again withe the September Simon Says Stamp card kit! Tomorrow we are revealing our cues! And we picked up an extra player! So excited!

Just wanted to say hi! I hope you're all well!

Lawn Fawn Love

Hello Lovelies!

It's Monday at 6:30 am and I've already gone to the Rec Center! Whoot! Contrary to popular knowledge, I get really, really, really tired after working out. I always have, even when I was healthy. Well, I'm trying to break that habit and NOT go back to bed before work. Who wants to have to wake up 2x in one morning, right? So, I'll talk to you all instead :)

These are the cards I made for Laurel's Heroes Card Drive using Lawn Fawn "Lunar Lights", "Grand Greetings", "Sophie's Sentiments", "You've Got Mail" and "Belinda's Borders". A couple have some masking and pretty coloring. Paper is Basic Grey, "Konnichiwa".

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great week!
