Mission: Kit-Possible {MORE!}

Hello Lovelies!

Jen and I have had great feedback from our Mission! I'm so glad you all found the game fun and inspirational! (If you're lost, go HERE to catch up!). The goal of today's post is to show other cards we made from the Simon Says Stamp August card kit!

Some of my cards used little pieces of the kit, while others used only the kit for supplies. A little or a lot, doesn't matter :) Just use it!

TONS of cards! I won't describe what I did to each as you'd be reading for a while :) If you have questions, please ask, I'll reply :)

You can see that every card you make from the kit doesn't have to look the same or even use many pieces but the point is to have fun and be inspired!

If you made it this far, thanks! And as a reminder, there's a giveaway on THIS post. Jen and I will reveal the winners on Friday, August 3rd!

Thanks for coming by and all the support and excitement you've shared with me over our Mission! There are secret meetings that we may do this again for September. But that's classified as of right now!

Mission: Kit-Possible REVEAL

Hello Lovelies!

So glad you came back to see the big reveal! My bloggy friend, Jennifer Harris and I, have challenge each other to use the Simon Says Stamp August card kit. We each gave each other 3 "cues" as a jumping off point.

Here's Jen:

Here's what I made using Jen's cues:
She had me 1) Fussy cut something, 2) Use the matte medium and 3) Use the alpha stickers

And here's what I made from the cues I gave Jen:
1) Use a tag, 2) Use 3 patterned papers and 3) Use a border stamp

This the kit from Simon Says Stamp:

In case you're on the fence about kits, this one is so reasonable priced and it's always adorable!

So, what do you think about our little game? We have one more post in this series where we'll show the other cards we were able to make with the kits.

Edited to add: We have a giveaway!!! Jen and I will each be giving away a $10 gift certificate to Simon Says Stamp to help us celebrate our game. Two rules:

  1. Comment :)
  2. Become a follower. If you already are, you're done :) If you're not...well, I still love you but I would love for you to become a follower, I promise I won't make you drink any kool-aid :)
PS-for the 4 comments I received before I got my act together and added the giveaway, those girls will be added to the giveaway because they commented :)

Thanks for coming by!

Mission: Kit-Possible

Hello gorgeous Lovelies!

We're playing a game! A fellow crafty friend, Jen, and I are going to play with the Simon Says Stamp August Card Kit!

We both love the kits and want to use them more! We thought it would be fun to challenge each other and today we're revealing our challenge we gave each other.

Here's Jen:

And here's what the kit looks like:

For our first round (this one) we gave each other 3 cues (things to use/do in/with the kit).

Here's what I gave Jen:
  1. Use the tag as the main focal point
  2. Use 3 patterned papers
  3. Use the border stamp
Here's what Jen gave me:
  1. Use the alpha stickers
  2. Fussy cut something
  3. Use the matte medium
Sound fun? We think so! We also decided to make a card using our own cues. So each of us have 2 cards to reveal on Sunday. One that we made using the other's cues and one that we made using our own cues.

On Friday, July 27th, we'll reveal what we made! And that's not all! There may or may not be a giveaway for our lovely blog readers! Pull out your kit and play along!

See you on Friday!

Neon is taking over!

Hi girls!

I'm over at a Blog Named Hero today showing a technique I learned from Jennifer McGuire. I forgot what she called it but I'm calling it faux chalkboard.

It's a way to play with just a little of the growing neon trend that seems to be taking over the crafty universe!

I've got 3 cards for show & tell, please come take a look :)

Video Debut!

But don't get too excited! It's a quick, raw and unedited video I filmed with my iPhone.

I recently acquired the July Jillibean Soup Card Kitchen kit and just loved it! Some girls on Facebook wanted to see so I just decided to rip off the video phobia band aid and give it a go!

My hubs said he'd build me a frame so I could actually prop my camera up instead of hold it. I think that's best for everyone involved!

All the Pretty Flowers!

Hello! How's everyone enjoying themselves?

I have 3 cards to share. I got on another kick! This time with layering paper to make pretty flowers! So these cards are for 2 challenges, Hero Arts (only the 1st two are for HA) and Young Crafters Unite.

Above: I used a Sizzix die for the flower layers. I just ran a bunch of paper through to have lots of layers. Sprayed with mist, crumpled up, inked up, stacked up and adhered together. With Stickles on top!

Hero Arts stamps: Say it All, CL574 & Old Letter Writing Background stamp

Above:  Stamped flower 3x with Hero Arts Hand Drawn Small Flower on Basic Grey's PB&J's paper pad. Cut out, stack up and adhere button.

Hero Arts Stamps: Hand Drawn Small Flower, Designer Woodgrain and Say it All

Above: For this one I used Tim Holtz/Sizzix die, Tattered Flower Garland (LOVE!), cut a bunch of layers. Inked them up, stacked them up and popped a brad in! The tickets are using Tim Holtz/Sizzix die, Ticket Strip and stamped with Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous stamp set Odds & Ends.

Lawn Fawn trimmings to tie it all together. Hero Arts Old Letter Writing background stamp.

Thanks for stopping by! I know, 3 cards, long post-but I was having fun!

Happy Birthday Lucy!

Hello!

It's Lucy's birthday! Happy Birthday to a sweet, sweet girl! Some of the DT girls at A Blog Named Hero have made her some cards to help celebrate!

How fun is this tag card? I wanted bright and cheerful! I got the template out of the "Folding Ideas for Cards & Envelopes" book. Sup-ah easy!

Who's Sketchy?

Hello!

I love sketch challenges! Kelly & Michelle, fellow DT girls from A Blog Named Hero, have started a Mojo Comeback weekly challenge on the Flickr group! It's super laid back and fun, you should join us!

The sketch for this week is based off a design by Kelly Rasmussen and used with permission:

I must say I adore it! I used 100% of the Basic Grey collection PB & J (seriously, how gorgeous is that red from the paper pad??), including the Hero Arts + Basic Grey background stamp, Flower Medley!

I finally played with some patterned paper and sticker elements! So fun!

Thanks for coming by! Have a great week!

Simon Says Stamp July Card Kit

Hello!

I finally got into my July card kit from Simon Says Stamp!! I just kept making cards! Love that kit.

For your viewing pleasure:

SSS sends an inspiration sheet with cards that Kristina Werner designed, so of course all of these cards are inspired by her!

The card above with the envie was also inspired by Sarah Moerman. She made a card with the envie as the focal point base and I thought it was so clever!

I still have a LOT left in this kit. Hopefully I'll sit and pump out some more!

STRE-E-ETCH Your Stamps

Hello!

July 1st means it's time for Challenge #6 over at A Blog Named Hero!

We're getting ready for the next Online Card Class, Stretch Your Stamps!

I used Hero Arts Patterned Hearts & Flower for both cards. I used the heart on both cards. Above, I stamped a border along the bottom by masking and using foam dimension. I also only used the frame sentiment from this set (omitting the flower in the tag).

On the flower card I stamped & cut out 18 hearts with Picked Raspberry Distress Ink, arranged them on a Cosmo Cricket Gluber in the shape of a flower. Before I adhered the pink hearts to the card base, I stamped a pink heart flower base on the actual card base, masked that off and stamped the heart in Mowed Lawn Distress Ink. Then I adhered my flower.

This is a really fun exercise in stretching your creativity! These type of challenges are my hardest! I'm really not an "in the box" thinker. So this was good for me.

Come play along and you could be in the running for a gift card from our lovely sponsor, Simon Says Stamp!

Her family was the victim of a home invasion and several items were stolen from her home. I'd appreciate it if you'd consider reading that post. Thanks :)
