Summer Lovin'...

...had me a blast!

I love that song from Grease! It's what inspired this card for the current CAS-ual Friday challenge!

I'm determined to use my Distress Inks, even for CAS cards! I used Tumbled Glass for the sky and for the sun I used Mustard Seed and Wild Honey.

I added the 2nd pic so you could see the dimension. The waves are all popped up. The paper, ball and letters are from Basic Grey, "Lauderdale". Gasp, it's from a couple of years ago! Who cares! It's cute and it worked for my card :)

I'll also be linking this to the Simon Says Stamp, Anything Goes challenge!

Thanks for stopping by!!

Sending Love Your Way-Take 2

I've been trying to use my own card designs more, I go through a lot to create one card so I figured, at least make 2 while I'm at it. I already have a card base cut and all the supplies are already out. So this is a different take on the card I made just previous to this.

This one is more colorful and I added hand stitching because I'm entering it into the Young Crafters Unite Challenge.

I used Lawn Fawn's new paper collection, Bright Side as well as a new stamp set, You've Got Mail and Flutter By. On the photo above, you can barely see, but on the back of the card is the new LF stamp set, Handmade with Love.

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great weekend!!!

Sending Love Your Way

Lawn Fawn + Lily Pad Cards = Pure Bliss! This card is for Lily Pad Cards Virginia's View Challenge #3!

Lawn Fawn Bright Side Paper; Lawn Fawn You've Got Mail & Flutter By stamps.

See that photo below? Well, I know what you're thinking? Colorful buttons, bright and bold. And what does she do? She uses kraft. Hmm? Interesting. I don't know what to tell you. I could have gone so many directions. But the circles stuck in my head and that LF kraft paper, what can I say?

Thanks for stopping by!

PS-just in case you made it this far. I'm not sure why my main focal shot is coming up a bit blurred lately. I keep struggling with my homemade light box.

Sunnier Days

Today I have a card I made from a sketch (my favorite kind of challenges!). I'm entering this into the current I Spy Sketches challenge!

99% of the supplies are from the Simon Says Stamp April Card Kit, Sunnier Days. The stamp set in this kit was designed by Kristina Werner! She also coordinates the kit! How can I not be inspired to make something with all that talent!

You Inspire Me

Hi! Thanks for coming by!

Lawnscaping is having the BEST challenge yet. Why? Because it's all about a fellow crafter who inspires you! I have a long list but the name that jumped at me first was Vicky Papaioannou. I think I've been "following" her for the longest. And literally, she's never touched anything I have not been uber impressed and inspired by! She's so generous with her time and talent. I appreciate her very much!

Her blog:
She's the co-owner/creator of Lily Pad Cards too.
Her YouTube channel:
The Lily Pad Cards YouTube channel:

So, I didn't pull inspiration from one particular card she made, more of a general creation from the culmination of all her beautiful artwork!

For Vicky:

You know I love tags! Sentiment from Lawn Fawn, Flutter By. The flower stamp is Hero Arts, but I don't know the name, the label is peeled off!

I inked up the flower with Distress Ink, misted with water and stamped! Distressed edges by inking and tearing, pretty pearls and the awesome new hemp type stuff from Lawn Fawn!

Thanks for stopping by! I wish I could have created a card for every crafty friend who's inspired me but the challenge closes in a few days, LOL! I love this community and I love that I found a home here!

Creative Chemistry-Distress Tags

I'm so excited I'm able to take Creative Chemistry 101 with Tim Holtz. I can't imagine you've haven't heard of it but...just in case click HERE for more info! It's a self-paced class, no time limits!

Here's what I've done for my sample of Distress tags. We covered 3 techniques, thus the 3 tags! Tim suggested we put the shortened version of the technique on the back of each tag so we could actually remember what we had done. I'm storing mine on a binder ring!

Spritz & Flick

 Brushless Watercolor

Wrinkle-Free Distress

Labeling the back of tags

Spritz & Flick close-up

Brushless Watercolor close-up

Wrinkle-Free Distress

Today's techniques are not new to anyone who loves Distress Inks, Tim has videos with these techniques, so does Jennifer McGuire and Britta Swiderski-just a couple of my favorites!

Thanks for stopping by! Check out the class link if you're interested in all the hoopla!

Happy Birthday Sketch

Happy Tuesday!

I've been having so much fun over at the I Spy Sketch Challenge Blog. I've got to say, those sketches are NOT simple! This was the hardest one for me yet!

Some product from the SSS March Card Kit. The fabric flowers are Bloomers from BG and the die cut flowers and bird are from HA. Banner die from PTI, sentiment from PS, "Sentiment Sampler". Hand stitched by yours truly!

And here's the sketch. I usually try to be creative with interpreting the sketch but this week I just stuck to it!

Thanks for stopping by!

Want a Kiss?

Not the kind of kiss you thought? Well, this technique called "kissing" is really fun. I've seen videos and have tried myself but never really got it. So when Lily Pad Cards had the "kissing" challenge, I made myself make it work. And it was fun!

I used Basic Grey + Hero Arts Sweet Threads paper and stamp, two sets from that line, one is "Sweet Threads Thanks You" and the other is "Sweet Threads Set". The other background stamp from HA is "Antique Flower Background".

For the kiss I used Distress Ink in Dusty concord on the background stamp then inked the flower with Victorian Velvet. It's subtle but really gives texture and detail. I love it!

And something about the Sweet Threads paper line I just adore! White embossed the sentiment.

Guest Designer at Lily Pad Cards!

What? I know, super cool for this chica, right?

Lily Pad Cards is one of my ALL time favorite blogs that has how-to videos (if you've never seen Vicki's videos, seriously, how dedicated are you?? LOL!), challenges and general crafty awesomeness! The talented Deborah has a knack for splitting my side open with a wonderful writing style and a wicked sense of humor!

I'm so honored  to be this Wednesday's Guest Designer!

Please hop over to Lily Pad for my complete card pictures and instructions!

Thanks for celebrating this exciting opportunity with me! I promised a little prize for a fellow crafter who was able to most-correctly guess my surprise earlier this week! So did anyone guess? Yes! Chari Moss did with this comment:

"published? featured on a blog? design team? this could be anything!"

Chari, if you'll email me with your mailing address, I'm sending you the Basic Grey "Lauderdale" 6 x 6 pad!

Have a great day Ladies!
