Lily Pad Cards-Texture Challenge

Happy Saturday!

I decided to enter a layout for the Lily Pad Challenge this time around.

I'm still new to photographing LO's but I think I captured all the texture on this one! I loved making this LO, creating the little neighborhood at the bottom.

The full LO is 12 x 12

Below I wanted to show the clouds. I put the cut clouds through an embossing folder, inked the edges and applied glossy accents.

Below I'm showing the cut grass (just with scissors and inked), the house popped up with glossy accents and the paper pieced tree.

Below is a closer look at the bottom row, the neighborhood.

And a closer look at the top 2 horizontal stripes.

I'm trying for a different angle on that house. I ran it through another embossing folder that had a brick texture. I paper pieced the trim, popped it up and applied glossy accents.

Here's where you can see that brick texture.

This one has better lighting and shows the arrangement of the bottom horizontal stripe.

The paper pack I used was mostly from October Afternoon's "Weather Vain" collection. The polka dot "Polaroid's" are using Lawn Fawn's "Say Cheese" set and the paper is from Paper Tray Inc.

Thanks for stopping by! Happy Saturday!

Lily Pad Cards - Nina B Sketch Challenge

Happy Saturday Night Ladies!

I'm entering this card into the Lily Pad Cards-Nina B Sketch Challenge.

Hello Stitching! I lost track of how long this little adorable turkey from the "Turkey Day" set from Lawn Fawn BUT I was watching TV, so totally worth it! I love the different colors of thread I used for the feathers, it was my one stroke of creativity for this day I suppose!

Lawnscaping Challenge #20

Hello Ladies!

Here's my entry for the Lawnscaping Challenge #20-Paper Piecing

I had a TON of fun with this challenge! This set from Lawn Fawn, "Happy Haunting" is so adorable! I used lots of glossy accents and glitter, well, and a ton of foam adhesive too, but that's the fun part about paper piecing!

Thanks for stopping by, have a fantastic day!

EDITED TO ADD: EEEKKK! I won the "Honorable Gnome" for this entry at the challenge! My first ever award!

Happy Halloween

Hi Ladies! I had so much fun usning Lawn Fawn stamps this weekend! I made this card set using "Heebie Jeebies".

It's hard to tell in the pics, but I put purple stickles on the banner of stitching.

I embossed the web in black and used Concord Grape and Seedless Preserves Distress Inks to color it in.

Thanks for stopping by and have a fantastic day!

10 on 10

Hi Ladies!

I'm a follower of the talented Shimelle and on the 10th of every month she writes a list of 10 things. Any 10 things. She has a writing style that takes me away from my own head for a second and makes me smile!

So I decided to do a list of 10 today. And truth be told, as I type, I have no idea what my list should be about. Pause. Thinking. Got it! The 10 crafty things I can see right now that make me happy! So let's go!

1. Distress Inks in Gathered Twigs, Ripe Persimmon and Seedless Preserves. I got them about 2 weeks ago and they haven't left my desk since. I LOVE the brown the best I think.

2. Twine. Oh, my lovely twine! I think I've got a ribbon phobia because I always reach for twine instead of ribbon. I love all the colors. I love that I can wrap it around a card 3x and it's not too bulky. I love that I can thread a button or stitch!

3. Lawn Fawn stamps. I LOVE their stamps! I love that they are made in the USA and the owner, Kelly is too adorable. She's so sweet and it makes her stamps adorable to me. I don't color with copics but I love to paper piece so these stamps seem to draw me in.

4. ATG. In Pink. I was against this huge honker of a tool for the longest time. I mean, really? But then I was super tired of running out of adhesive and spending $5-7 on a little itty bitty refill so I took the plunge. It's super sticky tape and huge rolls make me happy (even if I knock it over entirely too much!)

5. Embossing containers. I love embossing when I paper piece because when I go to cut I feel like I can follow the lines better. And it's fun to watch the powder melt. And it's fun to play with ink and embossing!

6. Ink station #1. Yup, heaven. Chalk inks, acrylic blocks, sponges, little inks, date stamps. Happiness.

7. Glittery, messy, sticky, paint stuff. I want to be better with acrylic paints, I use stickles whenever I can, and I just found sparkly fluff. EEEKKK!

8. 6x6 paper pads. Why I'm I addicted to these? Why? They are so cute, the patterns are smaller and perfect for cards, they take up less room and, and, I just love them. Isn't that the purest kind of love?

9. Coaster. My mom got me this coaster YEARS ago in a little town called Berea, in Kentucky. It's like a little college town with shops for tourists and the best garlic bread place on the planet! She found these cloth coasters and I've had this one on my craft desk or computer desk ever since. At first it was lightly scented so when you put something hot on it, well, it smells good! But I love it for the cold drinks too, you know that ice "sweat"? Well, around paper crafting that's a nightmare so problem solved! And of course I think of my mom every time I use it!

10. What should #10 be? Ahh, got it. My tool caddy! I've got this thing STUFFED with all kinds of goodies. And it spins! Yup, love!

So, there's my 10 on 10! That was fun! Thanks for joining me and have a fantastic day! Like a perfect 10 kind of day!
