Hero Art 90 Min Scramble

Hello Friends!

Thanks to Cat, I was able to play in today's Hero Arts Scramble! You see, Cat is my personal challenge reminder. She's reliable and consistent, and you can't have her! Haha!

The challenge was kind-of crazy! We had to include/do ALL of these:
1. Use a musical element
2. Use a heavenly element (stars, moon, etc)
3. No green ink/cardstock
4. Use at least one other color ink besides black/brown

I can't believe I had something with music on it. That's not really my style I gravitate towards (mostly because  of zero knowledge of anything musical)!

I pulled out on my first ever background stamps from Hero Arts, Musical Collage.
Embossed with Hero Arts Sparkle embossing powder.
Colored the embossed image with Distress Ink.
Stamped/cut/mounted sentiment from Hero Arts, Year Round Sentiments (stars also from that set).

I was inspired to do the monochromatic color scheme by Cat's creations too, I never do it and Cat's cards are always so pretty.

Have a great weekend! A new Lawnscaping challenge is live on Monday!

Twine Banner

Hello  Friends!

I made a CAS (clean and simple) twine banner!

I love banners and pennants and I always seem drawn to the stamps and die cuts that include those shapes. I thought it would be fun to make my own and let the twine shine on the card!

With a heavy embellishment like this banner, I thought it would be best to keep the rest of the card CAS.

So easy to do--cut a banner piece, run it through a Xyron (or cover it in adhesive, wet or dry, but for this I wanted dry) and start adding the twine! Make sure you have some seriously good fabric scissor to trim the edges too!

I love this color, Firecracker!

We have a fun monthly challenge going on right now! We'd love for you to play with us!

Clean Up Your Act!

Hello Friends!!

Let's get CAS with A Blog Named Hero!

I pulled out my new Lawn Fawn dies, the circle and scallop set.

And I decided that my Basic Grey PB & J collection wasn't loved enough so I pulled it out.

And when I remembered I had the coordinating Hero Arts + Basic Grey stamp set, I did a little happy dance.

And then when I realized I had NO idea how to make the jar pretty and put something in it, my happy dance died for about 2 hours while I stamped on vellum, acetate, making paper. It was comical. Mostly because in the pic you can't even tell I did anything special to the dang jar. *Sigh* (insert: but it looks really cool IRL).

Come and play with us for a chance to win!!

Who Let the Dogs Out?

Hello Friends!

I was up on the Lawnscaping blog yesterday with a crazy fun Critters at the Dog Park card!

So fun! I busted out mists, distress ink, copics, the big shot, glossy accents, glitter and tons of dies!

The new Lawn Fawn set, Critters at the Dog Park, is so so so stinkin' cute! And I love that there are dies for each of the 5 dogs in the set! And I used my dies for Quinn's ABC's too.

Let me explain...I printed off a piece of notebook paper, tri-folded it and adhered the top portion of the notebook paper inside the card. Sorry for the lighting, my photo area is way smaller than the full length of the piece of paper but I had to show you!

I hope you like it! You have a little more time to enter our Bling It challenge too! Have a great day!

PS-in case you missed THIS post...you must go see. It's fellow DT member  Christy's crafty space! We'll have a few of the Lawnscaping DT girls show you their spaces in the following Friday's too! We all LOVE to peek at others junk, lol!

Taking a Cue from the Sketch Master!

Hello Friends!

This is my 2nd post today, aren't you all so spoiled, haha! For my Lawn Fawn post, please click HERE or scroll down :)

I'm over A Blog Named Hero for my solo project today too! I took my inspiration from May's sketch that Chari Moss created for us and fellow DT chickadee Leslie posted about HERE.

I knew I wanted to use the sketch and some Hero Arts layering paper in the sunshine family. Then I pulled a stamp set I hadn't used and went to it!

he house is colored with Copics, I'm still learning! I thought the Cherry Red Timeless Twine added a good punch of color since the color palette is very warm and yellow-y.

It's hard to see but I added some ClearSnap smooch to the windows, it's purdy in real life ;)

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great week!
